Richard B. Cheney a prominent public servant and a businessman is vice president of the United States. Cheney has been a prominent figure in Washington for many years. George W. Bush was the president of the 4th generation to whom he served. Bush has appointed Cheney as his vice-presidential candidate in 2000, owing to Cheney's intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney, who served in the United States as Secretary and Chief of Staff in the administration of a president, as well as within Congress is a tremendous service to the nation. He is a true gentleman and has earned the respect of all Republicans and Democrats. Cheney has said that he sees his role in the administration as that of a frank but discreet advisor to Bush. Cheney accepted his role as Republican vice president that he would like to work with a presidential candidate who is willing to be a cross-partisan collaborator and work with their political adversaries with good will and for a common cause. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. Cheney was moved into Casper, Wyoming with his family when he was 13. He was raised by his father who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture was the director of the conservation district located in Casper.
