April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for writing songs. When April was 12 She composed her debut single called Different. She spent a lot of time when she was 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. In the following months, she started taking notes along with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. April began to include various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer with an ever-growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being a lifestyle expert. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of her story, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not conceal her status as disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. What is the message? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our physical and identity selves are not all that appear. I do not want this to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer where it's the only thing I discuss because there are many different aspects to my life. Lockhart states in video form from her house in Nashville. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I conduct doing my job as normal and have found my own methods to adjust. It's a big aspect of my existence, and it's imperative that we talk about it. Lockhart inspires us to keep going with self-acceptance. Lockhart admits to having been through phases in her life with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothes that showed the arms of her. She now wears whatever she'd like. And she posts pictures on social networks. She says that self-love is a journey. It's hard to say if you'll ever reach the end. The same is true for everybody regardless of levels of anxiety. It's important to be surrounded by people who can really see the person you are.
